Objectives

To demonstrate and improve the quality of inpatient CAMHS and coordinating information sharing between units, e.g. regarding best practice.

Scope and focus of programme

In-patient child and adolescent mental health units in the UK and internationally.

Products and services
  • A set of service standards for in-patient CAMHS

  • A system of self-review and external peer-reviews

  • Support for the local implementation of national policy as identified in the standards.

  • Reports for each member service, highlighting areas of achievement and areas for improvement.

  • A national "benchmarking" service to allow the units to compare their activity and performance with all other units.

  • The co-ordination of information sharing between units, e.g. regarding best practice, via network newsletter, email discussion group and annual forum.

  • An In-patient CAMHS Directory

  • Lead Reviewer Training

  • A web based service to support the collection of clinical outcome measures and analysis of the data.
