Objectives |
To provide a self
assessment tool for organisations who wish to develop as
a ‘health promoting hospital / trust’. It provides a
framework for this development. |

Scope and focus of programme |
Tool developed and
evaluated in the former Wessex Region of the NHS, the
tool was last updated in 2000.
The programme covers the
building blocks of the health promoting hospitals
concepts and values. These are that the standards of
health promotion are incorporated into the organisation
and structure of the hospital / trust promoting the
health of its staff, patients, and relatives and
supporting healthy environments. |
